Spring is a time to purify and detox the body from a long, hard winter. The Common Violet (Viola sp.) with its beautiful flowers (along with many other spring wild edibles) aids us in doing just that. Touted for being high in Vitamins A and C, these flowers make a nutritious addition to fresh salads. They can also be added to vinegar or honey to make an infusion of this springtime flower.
Look in sunny, grassy areas for these wild violets.
