Blueberries at the Grayson Highlands

It has been a while since we have made it up to our Grayson Highlands stomping grounds. We have been meaning to get up there to check out the status of the blueberries, blackberries, hawthorn and other things.

Unfortunately, we found the wild blueberry crop to be pretty light this year. It was slow picking with many small berries and some bushes without any at all. It is still probably still "before peak" up there, so there is some hope that picking will improve in a week or so.

None-the-less we picked enough for a pie or to add to pancakes. It is always hard to put away a lot of the wild blueberries, even in a good year!
