These prized medicinal plants are beginning to emerge from the ground. A large expanse of Black Cohosh was found on a north facing wooded mountain consisting mostly of oak and hickory.
Black Cohosh root should be harvested in the fall time. But take care only to harvest 1/3 of the crop leaving enough for the plants to sustainably replenish themselves.
