I harvested about a pound of ramps down along a dry creek bed up on White Top. It was a cooler, rainy day and I noticed a lot of the ramps in the area I was foraging already had flowers up.

Wild Allium
Just about the only wild edible I can reliably find in March is the wild Allium (most likely Allium vineale, aka Crow Garlic). The ones we find have thin, round leaves that have a garlicky scent when broken. They look a little bit like garlic chives rather than cultivated garlic (Allium sativum). You can gather the greens fresh at this time of year.
