Group Camping & Field Station

The Blue Ridge Discovery Center Group Camping & Field Station is nestled along Big Laurel Creek at the base of Virginia’s three highest peaks: Mount Rogers, Whitetop Mountain, and Pine Mountain. This gateway provides an ideal launch point to explore one of the most biodiverse landscapes in the world!

The Blue Ridge Discovery Center Group Camping & Field Station is suitable for groups and researchers whose activities align with BRDC’s mission. Examples include scout troops, school groups, collegiate classes/clubs, researchers, and citizen scientists. Cabins: There are currently four cabins on site, each with electricity and two twin beds. Cabins rent for $40 per night.

Tent Camping: The tent camping option allows for larger groups who are outfitted with their own camping gear. Tent camping is $10 per person, per night for 1-10 people and $8 per person, per night for 11+ people.

Field Station: The BRDC Field Station is a large building with a full kitchen, electricity, and restrooms. The Field Station rents for $25 per night.

Facilities: A bathhouse is on site with flush toilets and hot showers. There are two communal campfire spots along the creek as well as a small amphitheater.
