Who: Children ages 6-10 from Grayson & Carroll Counties and the City of Galax
Dates:
September 2 - October 30, 2020
Time:
Wednesdays 2:00 - 4:00 and Fridays 10:00 - 12:00
Location: Matthews State Forest, New River Trail, and Beaver Dam Creek Trail
Cost: FREE (Parents are responsible for face masks and reusable water bottles.) This program is generously supported by a grant from the Twin County Community Foundation.
Limit: 20 children ages 6-10

The Youth Outside Program connects youth of Grayson and Carroll Counties and the City of Galax to nature through hands-on, active, outdoor natural history activities. The components of this program include: observational hiking, reflective field journaling, and natural history education. Students will get outside with their peers to explore, discover, and share their experiences during a short hike in their local area. 

Throughout this program, children ages 6-10 will participate in all sorts of activities including games, crafts, scientific inquiries, and free exploration!
