Promethea

The default Callosamia in my part of Carroll County is the Tuliptree Silkmoth, Callosamia angulifera. Therefore you can appreciate my surprise when I found a Promethea, Callosamia prometheus, on the moth sheet this morning. Because I originally encountered Prometheas as a kid on the family farm in Delaware at least sixty years ago, I was  really happy to find one, a female, here.
I had some other good finds as well, but none as spectacular as the Promethea.
