An Unfinished Moth

This morning (8/20) a truly unfinished moth appeared on my sheet. At first glance it looks like a pug moth, but examination of the forewings shows it to be Macaria promiscuata. Apparently the moth didn't develop hindwings. Despite the absence of the normally large hindwings, the critter can apparently fly without difficulty.
