Diaphania hyalinata, Melonworm Moth, a Pyraustid (Pyraloidea-Crambidae-Pyraustinae) of the extreme southeastern US. It appears northward as an uncommon to rare late-season migrant. One appeared on my moth sheet overnight on October 5-6, giving me a treat and something to share. The host plants for the caterpillars include cucumber, melon, and squash.
