After a great round table discussion talking about all of the things that we want to do in 2016, it became very clear that all of the adults in the room wanted to have as much fun as the kids were having!! So we resolved to build an adult (or family) version of the Explorers Club for 2016!

We are going to be getting together at Creek Bottom Brews in Galax, VA on December 1st at 5:45PM to collaboratively discuss exactly what form this club will take. Preliminary thoughts revolve around a format very similar to our Young Explorers Club, where we meet once a month to discuss, then take an exploration field trip on one Saturday.

We have been operating a program called Blue Ridge Expeditions for the last two years where BRDC lines up a guide and a destination (hike to Bluff Mountain, Mushroom Foray with Ken Crouse etc...) we are now thinking that the "Explorers Club" could replace that with participant generated ideas for explorations in classic club-type fashion. 

Our vision as an organization is to provide opportunities for our community to connect with the Blue Ridge Mountains. At the root of this is the discovery method of exploration - following participants passion and interests in the moment. We think that operating in a club atmosphere will allow for organically grown ideas and interest to grow.
