BRDC partners with the Independence Farmers Market for Rally Dinner

In a grand tradition that spans back to 1975, this spring Blue Ridge Discovery Center is hosting the annual Mount Rogers Naturalist Rally. This event brings together like-minded nature lovers throughout the region. As part of this tradition the volunteer run Konnarock Community Association cooks up the Friday Night Dinner as an annual fundraiser.

As the years have gone by we have all become more aware of the impact of our own footprint and simultaneously grown to cherish the values our mountain region embodies. That is why, in 2016, we are changing things up a bit. For the 2016 Rally Dinner BRDC is excited to partner with the Independence Farmers Market to provide the dinner with fresh local ingredients. The meal will feature an option of vegetarian or meat lasagna chocked full of local veggies and meats, with home-made baguettes, and a garden salad to die for.

Join us for the Friday Night Dinner and proudly support our local farmers and the Konnarock Community Association with this opportunity to eat a locally sourced home-cooked meal for just $10! The meal will be served Friday May 6, 5:30PM at the Konnarock Community Center.

Stick around after the dinner for our featured speaker, Sarah Ross, Executive Director of the UGA Center for Research and Education at Wormsloe, Savannah, Georgia, who will be presenting Monarchs, Milkweeds and a Marathon Migration!
