Freshwater Snorkeling Program

  • Blue Ridge Discovery Center 6402 Whitetop Road Troutdale, VA, 24378 United States (map)

Aquatic fun for all ages!

Ever wonder what lurks beneath the water’s surface? You will be amazed at what you see! Expect an array of colorful native fish from darters to dace, and if you’re lucky you might even find a hellbender or two.

Mike Pinder, Aquatic Biologist for Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, will lead an afternoon investigation of aquatic life in Southwest Virginia’s mountain streams.

Participants will be provided with a wetsuit, life jacket, and snorkel mask to use during the program. If you have your own equipment, you’re welcome to bring it!
