Location: Mount Rogers National Recreation Area, New River

This camp is ideal for both a beginner and an experienced fly fisher. Our expert guides will teach every aspect of fly fishing including casting and knot tying, reading the water and equipment management, safety rules, and fishing ethics. Campers will begin fishing in ponds for largemouth bass and bluegill, then hone their skills in local creeks and high mountain streams fishing for brown, rainbow trout, native brook trout. Ultimately, campers will graduate to a guided rafting trip down the New River fishing for smallmouth bass. This camp is open to everyone between the ages of 11 and 17, so register today if you know of an aspiring angler who would like to join us on our Fly Fishing Adventures!

Highlight Activities: Fly tying, rigging and casting a fly rod, stream morphology, reading water, landing and netting fish, fishing ethics

* Scholarships are a key part of this camp and are given for both MERIT and NEED. If your kid has a drive to attend this camp, we encourage you to fill out the Scholarship Application.
